
From 6th to 8th June, in collaboration with Africa Uncensored, with support from Hivos, under the VCA project, we held the training of journalists and communication specialists as the first part of our fellowship.
The main objective of the training was to enhance knowledge and strengthen capacity of journalists and communication experts in climate change communication.
The first two days were targeted on training on various thematic areas in relation to climate change, and climate change communication with specialists in the given areas.

The training sessions included:
- Introduction to Climate Change and Adaptive responses to Climate Change.
- Psychology of Climate Change Communication.
- Best practices in Framing Climate Change issues by the media.
- Pitching climate change stories and how to cover policy and Climate justice issues.
- Climate Finance Landscape in Kenya, Priority, Opportunities and challenges.
- Green Finance and how journalists can help in tracking and reporting.
- Policy landscape in Climate Change Governance.
The third day was a field excursion to CIM Yatta farm in Machakos County, for a real case study experience on impacts of Climate Change on people and the environment.
